General Information
The GENE-ius Day Program offers field trips for 6th-8th graders. Each field trip has a series of activities that connect genetics and agriculture to the school curriculum. Being on campus lets students imagine themselves as university scientists and increases interest in science related topics. Each field trip includes a plant cell lab, DNA extraction lab, an interactive lecture on human and plant traits, and an agricultural talk that highlights the relationship between science and the food we eat. How GENE-ius Day Started...
The GENE-ius Day program started in March of 2007, where we hosted 74 students from Montessori Community School. As the program expanded over the years, we have had the pleasure of welcoming over 1,200 elementary students for the 2016 to 2017 school year.
